Masks for Mandy was formed in honor of a community member who passed away a week before daily restrictions began due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the need for cloth masks became crucial. Carrie Jacobs reached out to church members to see who was interested in making cloth masks for others, and one of the nine ladies who responded was Mandy’s mother, Lori Ross. The group chose to honor Lori’s daughter by naming the group for her.
This small but mighty group of ladies focused on serving others and has now donated more than 2,500 cloth masks for healthcare providers, police officers, businesses, individuals, and the military. Their goal is to continue making cloth masks as long as there is a need for them at no charge to “keep people safe”. This group works solely on donations of fabric and elastic and monetary donations go towards supplies.
